Full liquids - whats allowed?

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on July 27 with Dr. Aceves. I'm on vacation in another province right now and don't have the list for full fluids that I was emailed before surgery. I know of milk, Protein Shakes, yogurt drinks - anything else? Many thanks

Kim

Hi There,

I am new to the forum and am having the Sleeve done August 17th from Dr. Joya.

I'm on day 3 of my liquid pre-op diet...getting cranky...lol :-) It sounds like you are happy and doing well with the sleeve yourself. Thanks for the advice on the diet.

Hi Meowmeow, and welcome. Don't worry, we all get a little cranky during the pre and post-op diet phases.

Thanks so much Tiffykins, that's exactly what I needed. It sure doesn't seem like there is much difference between full and mushies, does it.

Not really LOL.

But, I will say that watermelon was a god-send. I swear, I was in heaven for those 5 little bites of watermelon once I was able to have it.

Hey Kim, how are you doing after surgery?

I am making it a little better every day.

My drain wound is the only thing bothering me but boy does it hurt. it is exactly where I bend to sit or stand. I'll be happy when it gets better. Have you spoken to Jaz since ya'll left?

Did you have a good flight home? How are you with you liquids?

I'm trying to get mine all in but I run just a little short on them right now.. I feel great though.

It was nice meeting you in Mexicali.

Hope you have a speedy recovery

Hugz,

Penny:rolleyes:

Hi Penny,

I feel great! No incision or tummy pain at all. Occassionally, if I hiccup or something I get a little shoulder pain but otherwise nothing. Fluids have been going down fine but I just cringe at my next drink of Water and adding anything to it makes it so sweet tasting. So like you, I am probably a bit short each day. Also, being on vacation it isn't as convenient to grab something from the fridge you know? I had a brief message from Jaz last week but nothing since. Hope she is doing okay. It was great meeting you too, hope you keep doing well and keep in touch.

Kim

Wow Penny you still have a drain? You said it hurt. It is not red and angry or anything is it? I had a drain in my neck after surgery to remove a salivary gland. It didn't hurt but I was on pain medication.

No my drain is gone, but the spot where it was is still hurting. It is right where i bend or twist.. ouch it hurts everytime, but it isnt' red. So i guess it is just getting my attention and telling me to stop moving like that. LOL

Good luck to all of you. I just wanted to say that once you can have the sf pudding, it's really good frozen for something different.

I also really enjoyed egg drop Soup. It's one of the Soups that actually has some Protein in it. I also had cream of chicken Soup but made sure to put it in the blender to blend it up fine enough that there were no chunks what so ever in the soup.

Daisy,

Egg Drop Soup is allowed on full liquids? I"ve been trying to find that out and haven't seen anyone else that posted they could have it.

I've been wanting it really badly...

I posted a recipe for it made with tofu --- extra Protein - it was really good and flavorful. And yes, it's allowed on full liquids -- slurp away!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
