Forgive me for I have sinned...

I have just been out to the fridge in our extension for a bottle of Water and lurking there on the top shelf was some chocolate. Before I knew it it was in my mouth and having the life sucked out of it. It wasn't my fault. I just don't know how it could have happened. Will I go to Hell for this?

It must have been the gremlins lurking out there just waiting to sabotage you - they knew eventually you'd come for that bottle of Water and wham - they attacked you and shoved that chocolate in your mouth before you knew what was going on ... shame on them! (Tell me, was it absolutely wonderful? I mean after you got over the shock of being attacked by a chocolate bar?) ... I doubt you'll go to hell for this ... however, you'd probably better be sure there's no more chocolate out there for the attack doesn't happen again! (For your own safety of course!)

Oh yes, it was heavenly and I only had a little bit, but I shall have to stronger. I just couldn't prevent it from flying into my open, drooling mouth (Homer Simpson- style drooling)! I have got a HUGE box of chocolates 'hidden' in my room upstairs that my mother bought me when I came out of hospital! I said, "Mother, thankyou, but I can't eat these!" to which she replied, "But you moaned last time you had an operation that no one brought you any chocolates!" I said, "Yes mother, but I hadn't just had three quarters of my stomach removed in obesity surgery!" She still didn't get it and insisted I kept them and didn't let my family get their hands on them. Think I may end up letting them have them though and not tell her!

You guys are too funny! But seriously, do you want to live the rest of your life without chocolate? Or do you want to live the rest of your life as a normal person? Normal people eat chocolate, they just do so in reasonable amounts. I see nothing wrong with enjoying the occassional piece of chocolate now and then. After all, we are women and there are certain times when chocolate is not only wanted, it is a necessity for us!

I would have to either eat the entire box or throw the box down the garbage disposal. It's all or nothing with me. chocolate goes down way too easy.

It goes down easy, but more importantly, it just tastes so darn good and can fix just about anything!

Throwing them away is a sin in itself isn't it??? They will just have to be eaten then - not yet though. I shall save them for when I really NEED them!!!

You must have way more willpower than me. They would be calling my name every hour and I would eat them until they were gone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
