No. They aren't competing for the same receptors.

Daisy can you tell me the dose of Biotin that you take please, I'd like to try it before I am totally bald! Maybe it will preserve some of my hair. Thanks.

Sorry, I will get back to you on that. I am in Arizona and I have to use WIFI at the grocery store.

I don't have the bottle with me. I bought them at Walmart and I usually just take one per day. I am not sure how many mg are in each capsule, but honestly, I don't think they do anything. I still lost a lot of hair but I have some new hair growing in. It's falling out less and less, but it's still falling out some. I am going on 9 months at the end of this month. The dr. told me months 4-9 were the worse.

Hmmm, not sure anybody is still active in this thread, but I was wondering if you could get you Vitamins in with Vitamin Water? That would be one less pill to take. On the other hand, I was always told that Multivitamins were a waste of mony becasue of several vitamins compete for the same receptors...? I have always taken my vitamins as individuals (B complex and C and then my supplements like Zinc when needed and bioflavanoids). This is all before surgery though, I am not sure how I will be able to get everything down post surgery which is why I was wondering about the vitamin water, like propel.

Plumbum,

I have a bottle of Vitamin Water in front of me and it looks like the only thing you would get your daily amount equivalent would be Vitamin C. My bottle only has Vitamin C and a variety of Vit b's but the Vitamin Bs don't have the full daily value.

Also, I am not sure what the quality of the vitamin in vitamin Water is like.

Vitamins are VITAL to WLS patients or anyone on a diet of less than 1800 calories a day. There's no way to get in the nutrients we need on what we eat.

Everyone should be taking a Multivitamin every morning with Breakfast and then AT LEAST 500mg Calcium citrate twice a day in addition to the Calcium that we get from cheese and milk and yogurt. It doesn't hurt to add in a B12 supplement too. Sleevers especially, because of the acid reducers we take. Any excess B Vitamins will be flushed out of your system and not absorbed, so you don't have to worry about getting too much.

Don't take calcium with anything else, because the Iron and calcium fight for absorption. I wouldn't take extra Vitamin D, K, or Iron unless your labs show a deficiency of them, because too much of those vitamins can cause problems.

The Biotin capsules that I take are 5,000 mg. I finally remembered to look on the bottle.

My Calcium is low, and I eat cheese and yogurt every day. My vit D. is low and I take vit D every day, but I am increasing it.

I agree that you can't get everything you need from food the way we eat with a sleeve.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
