I know I've been MIA for quite a bit so I wanted to update everyone as to what's been going on in my part of the world.

July 3rd Caysen came home from being with my family during my recovery. My younger brother and best friend spent a week with us. We had such a great time. I took them to the marine show (like a mini- SeaWorld), and of course to the beach. We did a lot of hanging out at the house because the weather was nasty.

Well, on July9th, I had a follow up appointment and the beginnings of a UTI was detected. I started Levaquin that night, and progressively became more ill. By Saturday morning around 4am, I was in gut wrenching pain. I toughed it out because I thought it was gas, a bit of dehydration, and the UTI.

I couldn't handle the pain anymore on Monday morning and went to see my surgeon. They did a cat scan and found 2 Fluid pockets/abscesses in my abdominal cavity, and 1 in my pelvic cavity. Lovely remnant bacteria from the leak, and I was admitted Monday afternoon. I had to be transported to an interventionalist radiologist so they could place drains in these pockets. The one in my pelvic cavity is too "deep" for them to get to, but it appears that it is draining into the other drain. I was released this last Monday and have been home recoverying.

I went back today for a follow up, and one of the fluid pockets is gone so I was able to have 1 of the drains removed. I'm on a full diet now, and can eat whatever I want. My nutriotion isn't doing so great, and I have to up my Protein, but the liquid Protein supplements are running right through me. So, I've been instructed to eat 4 small meals a day and to get 15gr of protein in each meal. Biggest issue is at this point is that I can't eat dairy while on one of the antibiotics.

Sorry, I haven't been on, I've been lurking the last few days, but my mind and spirit just hasn't been into posting. I'll work on getting caught up these next couple of days.

Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers, and support ! ! !

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
