i was banded 2/18. I find that days 1-3 I was miserable because my family decided to fry chicken, and bake sweet smelling goodies. I wasnt physically hungry, but the mind is a whole different story.I found that whenI actually ate... I could only eat less than a cup of anything. I felt that there wasnt enough time in the day to get 60g of Protein, and64 grams of liquids. Isopure is good... but good luck finishing a 20 ounce drink. I drink cans of a Protein Drink called Zioc. Its 21 grams per 11ounces. I try and drink three a day.... But for me.... the hunger was definately mental.

I was sleeved on 2/18 and know for sure it is more than just head hunger b/c I have been on liquids for a week now. And I still can't eat anything more than thin Soup or SF pudding. Tonight I had some potato soup and filled up quickly so that was great. I can't wait to start heartier foods in small quantities. Liquids just don't stick around long enough and clear broth gets old so fast. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
