Dr. Aceves requires a pre-op diet for anyone with a BMI of > 40. You can have unlimited Protein, low fat, and 30 grams of protein a day. This diet is required to be followed for one week prior to surgery. The night before surgery, you are permitted to eat ANYTHING you desire.

She meant to say 30 grams of carbohydrates a day ... protein is unlimited.

When are you going to see Dr. Aceves? I'm so happy for you :001_wub:

Thanks, I contacted them today. They are going to e-mail me available dates today or tomorrow. I'm trying to talk my friend into going and getting the sleeve too. She has signed up with the same surgeon here to get the band. I think I have her about convienced to get the sleeve instead. I will keep you posted. Judy

Judy, you will love, love, love Dr. Aceves, he and his staff are absolutely amazing. That would be great if you could convince your friend and both of you could go at the same time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
