I am one week out today. I have already lost some weight, but I am struggling. I feel like I CAN NOT take another drop of Soup. I am on full liquids now, but I don't know what else to have besides soup and Protein Shakes. I am losing my mind! My parents are right now eating grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. :drool5: I don't know if I can make it another couple / few weeks till I can maybe begin to eat food again. This is really hard. Help!

Get out of the house and go for a walk or go shopping. Get some sugar free ice pops and some gum so you can chew. It's very important to heal and you WILL get through the post-op diet. Try and stay as busy as possible and keep drinking.

I love this website. I knew if I reached out, someone would reach back! Thank you for the tips. The problem is right now I am in Costa Rica and I have no access to a car or to public transport right now. The neighborhood my dad lives in is safe to walk only at certain times. I am walking around the house, though. Thank you for the tips about the popscicles and the gum. I do miss chewing. I think part of the problem is being trapped in this house. my mom and I are going to get dropped off at a local mall tomorrow to walk around. I'm glad, but I am going to be exposed to food everywhere. I never realized how obsessed with food I am. Is it that or is it just because I can't have it?? I'm going a little stir crazy here. Thanks for listening!

Can you have yogurt of sf pudding? There is also drinkable yogurt. I could have yogurt on full liquid.< /strong>

It's hard but you need to decide what is head hunger and what is actual hunger. The liquid phase is boring but it DOES end and you will transition to real foods soon. Is there anything you like to do that would keep your hands busy (I do counted cross stitch)? Maybe you could find a craft store and start a new hobby? When you see the pounds coming off, you'll be motivated to keep eating healthy.

Thank you soooo much!! I actually got to go to the local "mall" here in San Jose, Costa Rica. It was so good to get out of the house and walk around. We even went to a movie. We saw Angels and Demons. It was really good. Funny thing is, I was out having fun with my parents and I couldn't wait to get home to check my computer and this site! I can't wait to see (and feel) the difference!

this site is addicting. It will be even better when we get more people on here who aren't so newly sleeved. Learning to eat like a normal person

is not easy at first.

Yes it is very addicting -- however, keeps your fingers out of the cookie jar so to speak... Just think Daisy, pretty soon we won't be the 'babies' anymore -- we'll be TEENAGERS on this WLS path. How cool!:wink0:

I'm going to use imagining my tiny tummy bursting to keep me from feeling that way. I know it's graphic, but that's the best thing I can think of to ward off those desires for real food.

Imagining my liver being knicked and me hemorrhaging on the OR table keeps me from eating carbs during this PreOp diet..LOL

Well you may be on solid foods in another week ... I'll probably still be on mushies, as I'm not able to get more than 2 or 3 bites of anything down and can't even imagine trying to get solid foods down. I have to admit this surgery and the post-op have definitely killed any desire in me to eat -- in fact, I dread getting hungry and needing to eat because it takes me longer to figure out what to eat and to fix it than it does for me to get full. Very discouraging for me at this time. Hoping over time it will change; and the sooner the better!

Went to Taco Bell today for frijoles and cheese -- can't even tell that I made a dent in the tiny bowl I got. I got an order of sour cream and guacomole and total order was $1.61 ... glad it wasn't very expensive, considering I ate 3 bits and couldn't eat any more. My brain says yes yes yes but stomach says no no no ... and I've listened to listen to my stomach because the alternative isn't fun at all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
