Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone in Australia has used there superannuation money for their surgury?? my GP told me that this is very possible so I have started making APRA applications. Only thing is I have no idea how long it takes for the money to be released!

very true angel. as it turns out i am in the proccess of answering that. i submitted the paper work 14 working days ago but on working day number 11 they rang me asking me to show proof of my applications for a personal loan/ rejection from financial service. of cource i neally had heart failure! so....on day 11 i trundled right over to the bank started applications for a bank loan..... sure enough we are too broke for a loan, and out comes the rejection letter.... i picked it up on day 12 and faxed it straight away. day 14 they write me saying i need proof of failed personal loan..... **upside down** i call them up and say i faxed this on day 12 and am just calling to make sure it made it to the office (again) now they cant tell me how long its going to be...i think my application went to the bottom of the pile!!!! BUGGA!

OK so it was on working day 19 that i rang up and asked how my application was going. they were delighted to tell me over the phone that the application had been approved a few days ago.... he then told me that it would take about another 5 working days to receive the the approval. (which meant i wouldnt make my payment on time therefore having to put my date back a week... bugga!!)

Working day 20 I get my letter???? weirdos.... I was about to send the grant to my super fund so they can release the money but was reading the very last line where it says to ring the super fund to see if they have any release forms that have to be sent *with* the grant letter. lucky i caught that one! rang them up and they send some forms that i got in the mail day 21. I was on to them straight away with a certified copy of my drivers licence and back in the box at day 21.

there is a 5 to 10 day wait on that one too!!! we will see.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
