Looking for Texas Sleevers???

Recommended Posts

Hi Lil Red Raider - from one Barker's Babe to another! Everytime I see his commercials on TV I think - "Dang - they need to do a close-up of him so everyone can see how cute he is. He'd get even MORE business!" Ha! And his billboards - he's so tiny on them. He needs to put that million-dollar face out there for everyone to see. Our own personal Dr. McDreamy...

Isn't that him on the billboard just outside of Forest Park Med Center? I didn't notice him being good looking but you can bet I will be taking a second look just to check.

Dr. Barker is very nice looking. He is a fellow RED RAIDER so that was a plus. He helped with starting Forest Park. He is very nice and his staff is awesome too!!!!

Dr. Barker is super-hot in person. His ads don't do him justice. Of course, that's just a perk. He's an excellent surgeon first of all. He did 5 procedures during my surgery in January, plus my original lapband in 2006. I trust him completely when it comes to scalpel skills!

Hi! I am in Houston (West U/Rice Village area). Anyone been sleeved by Dr. Nowzaradan? I met with him the first time and really liked him! Let me know if you have heard anything about him or his practice. I am a little nervous because it seems like he has several practices. Is that normal?

I'm in the Houston area also. Surgery date 8-16-10, liquid diet pre-op stage now.

My surgery is scheduled for 8-19-10 I start the diet on Saturday. Who is your surgeon? Is the liquid thing as hard as I think it will be?

Dr. Yu.

Liquid isn't so bad. After about 3 days your don't have the the cravings really at all. Just stay away from food smells when you feel hungry.

I live in Katy and was sleeved on 8/31! I used Dr. Felix Spiegel and feel great. I'm on my way to Target to get rid of some gas..LOL. It's hard to get all the Protein in but my friends say that it gets easier every day and before you know it you are eating real food again and still losing weight. I'm so happy to be starting this new chapter in my life!

Hi Everyone. I'm in Houston (near jersey village). Its good seeing people on this website near my area. My sleeve is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 8th. Like most of you, I hear the gas is the biggest downfall. I'm hopeful. Good luck to all. Keep posting!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
