I had my surgery the same day as Vegas Angel and I dont remember any of that either. It was really a good surgical experience and I have had a few. Post op has been a breeze for me.

/ And how are you doing now approx. 14 days post-op?

I feel great considering I had major surgery 2 weeks ago. There is no pain at any of the incision points. I am back to work.

I am tired and I can only attribute that to the fact that I've yet to find anytype of Protein I can tolerate - everything is so sweet I can't stand more than a sip or two. I think that will change when I am able to begin mushies and eat cottage cheese and such.

My fiance has decided to have the surgery, too, and so I believe we'll be heading back down to Mexicali on 7/10.

Is this your fiance in your avatar photo? He doesn't look heavy at all.

How do you get this process started with Dr. Aceves??:lol0:

NO - that is Dr. Aceves in my profile picture.

You can email nina and tell her you are interested in surgery with Dr. Aceves. I will PM you with her email address ... she'll lead you through the entire process.

If you go with Dr. Aceves, you won't be disappointed in the entire process at all.

I hope Bob is completely ready to eat itty bitty portions for the rest of his life. I know it does stretch over time, but WasA tells me she can only eat a quarter of a sandwich and she is a year out.

I ordered a tuna fish sandwich on rye with lettuce at a diner. I ditched the bread and ate the tuna and the lettuce of one half the sandwich and brought the other half home.

I think I could eat half a sandwich. But not the bread. I can eat 4 oz. of egg salad and that's more than they put on a sandwich usually. I have eaten 5 slices of roast beef but that was pushing it. (The lunch meat kind.) But 3 pieces and a piece of cheese is normally what I put in a sandwich. I think it just depends on what it is.

I had 4 oz of lobster today. Tried to bring the steak home but my dog grabbed it out of my purse on the way home. She had a good dinner.< /strong>

Hi Everyone

I'm new to this site and so far it is soooo helpful. I currently have the band and I too have a lot of questions.

Just want to clarify...when you say you get full really fast and once you are full that is it..done. So do you mean (sorry if this sounds really dumb) you can NOT eat another bite? If you do, do you get sick?? I find with the band that I over eat a lot. I get full, then it seems to settle and I can eat more. Some days I can't eat much but other days you would never know there is a band in there....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
