Today was my 4th fill

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I haven't been on this board in so long. I had my band almost a year now. I am very ashamed to say I only lost 20 lbs. I was doing great in the beginning. Long story short, I never really felt restriction. I felt like I could practically eat anything. bread, chicken and even steak never gave me a problem. My biggest problem is the mental aspect. I eat at night for comfort. I know how bad that is. I really hope this fill will help me feel full sooner. I want to lose weight. I need too. I want to have my own success story one day! Thank you everyone for listening. I hope to be very active on here again :))

I'm sure you'll get there. St least your honest about how things havent gone smoothly for you. The mental aspect of being banded is really hard.. I'm a comfort eater too. Actually I eat or ate for every emotion. Not always sad or lonely. I have a 14 band with 9/5cc's. Finding it a good restriction not hungry..woo hoo. At least my body anyway. Head hunger now and again. I'm sure you'll get there this time. No restriction is hard. Its just a diet and they are not easy...

I too had my fourth fill this month. I have real restriction now. Its kind of a love hate relationship with my band. I love that I cant eat much but sometimes it gets on my nerves. I sit down to eat dinner and the first bite gets stuck. The end to a good meal. My stuck pain is all in my left shoulder. Its weird. I got into a size 14 jeans at Old Navy today so its all good. Size 12 is right around the corner. Yay me.

Thank you both so much. Today is a new day. I am debating between eggs or oatmeal for Breakfast. I only got stuck one time so I hope it doesn't happen now that I have more fill. Part of me feels like its going to be the same as every other fill. Meaning it doesn't seem different at all. I guess I will see! I need to think positive!!

I thought my first couple of fills were useless but actually they were more of a training tool. I ate slightly less each time, but had to do it more thoroughly and slower each time.. I'm now officially green (huge cheer) and I'd never have coped with out the practise. No more ooohh one more bite or snacking.. I'm full so fast. I hope this for you too...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
