Weird dreams since surgery scheduled

Recommended Posts

Lately I 've been having surgery related dreams where I wake up banded and I can immediately tell the difference (these dreams are great). Last night I had the most bizarre dream... I was out with my husband and someone said ," Hi, Valerie." Well, my name is Stephanie. It turned out that I had another personality named Valerie that was sneeking out at night and partying till all hours. That was the reason I'm tired all the time, have headaches and can't lose any weight. Because Valerie was undoing all my exercise and eating right by partying all night!

I have to tell you this dream would make alot of sense if it were true!

So, my surgery is scheduled for June 16th and I'm saying goodbye to Valerie forever!

That made me laugh, thanks. I didn't have a dream that I had an alternate personality, but it is funny how obsessed we become with the band once we make the decision to have it. I did have dreams just about every night of being banded, having PB's, everything and wake up so disappointed when I realized I didn't have it yet. Now I do, and I experienced my first official "golf ball" the other day and the first thing I did when it hit was tell my husband to get me to the emergency room and get that thing out of me! Of course, I didn't, but it hurt so bad that at that moment, that was what I believed I wanted. Thank goodness my hubby didn't listen to me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
