Signs You've Had Enough to Eat

Recommended Posts

I haven't had my first fill yet, but the doctor said I would know when I've had enough to eat. So I've figured out what my body does to tell me I'm full, I burp! I'm not a burper, I NEVER burp and all of a sudden I've found that when I burp, I just put the fork down and walk away. Today at Breakfast, I had a strawberry in my hand, I burped, and I put it down. I'm certain that I don't want to find out what would happen if I continued to eat; I'm finally listening to my body and it is really working for me. How do you know you've had enough to eat, any other burpers out there? LOL

Many get different signs after band surgery, satisfied is different from pre band.

Here are some of the signs that I've had and others over the years:

1. Burping

2. Sneezing

3. Watery eyes

4. A "sigh"

5. hiccup

If someone continue to eat to the point of sliming or Pbing, they've gone too far, and many people go too far all the time, and going to far frequently on a very restricted band can cause pouch dilation over time.

I get the FEELING that I need to burp, but I don't actually burp. I have also gotten a tighness in my chest (not painful or scary just a sensation) and when I have really over done it just a few times I get a sharp pain in my left shoulder. Congrats on your success...awareness is half of the battle here!!

I was talking to the check out girl at the grocery store today, she commented that she could tell I had lost weight. Funny enough, I haven't been to the grocery in a while! I told her that I had a lap band put in, she indicated that she was thinking about it. I told her, before you even begin the process you have to understand that the band is just a tool, that you have to watch what and how you eat as well as you have to be very self-aware and you have to work out. I gave her my surgeon's number and encouraged her to go to a orientation. It is funny because the term self-aware came up two or three times. I also told her that you have to want to do this and stressed that the band doesn't lose the weight for you.

I think if you chew slowly, and savor each SMALL bite, you will eventually KNOW you're reaching your satisfaction mark. Most of us are used to eating too fast, and that's one of the reasons why we over indulge. Just take it slow, and listen to your body. You'll get the hang of it before you know it! ;)

That is met too! After a while, must be when my food settles, then the burp will come. Awareness is the key, I have never paid attention the way i do post surgery.... I just listen to my body it hasn't failed me yet.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
