Weird fill schedule???

Recommended Posts

I was banded June 26th and had 2ccs in the band from surgery. My surgeon has me on an interesting fill schedule. I get 0.5ccs every two weeks. I am now at about 3.5ccs in a 10cc band. Anyone else on a schedule like mine? My doc won't give me over 0.5ccs per fill....kind of weird?? I have plateaued and feel like at this rate I will never get to the green zone and start losing again :(

My dr. doesn't go that slow, but from what I read on LBT small fills are the BEST way to go. While it may take longer to hit green, once you do you won't get overfilled and start having issues. I think your doc is doing the right thing (as long as it's not costing you an arm and a leg).

My first fill was pretty hefty; a little over 3 cc's. That brought me to 6.2. The 2nd one (about 4-5 weeks later) was another .8, bringing me to an even 7. My 3rd fill (also about 4-5 weeks later) was very small, but brought me right into the green zone. That fill was .25. I'm pretty sure this will hold me for awhile, and I don't plan on anymore fills, anytime soon. I'll see how it goes. When I lose another chunk, maybe I'll need a small one.

PS: my doctor didn't put me on a fill schedule. They pretty much go on how I'm feeling, weight loss, etc.

I was banded May 26th. My first fill was June 25th w/ 1 cc and since then I get .5 cc per month. My dr. believes in slow fills as well.

I was banded 5/30/13 and had my first fill on 7/30 of 5cc's. Then last Tuesday I got a fill of 1 cc. I was still not feeling full so today I got another fill of 1.5cc's. My doctor said today that she wants patients to feel the band working. I won't know how good it's working until I get past this 48 hrs of liquids. lol

My doctor did the same, and it worked. I reached my goal in about 16 months and for the past three years I have maintained my weight. Be patient, rather you loose weight slow without complications than to get too much of a fill and have major issues :)

Initially, I received 1 cc and then .5 or .2 every 3 weeks. Don't worry, you'll get there just fine!

Dont rush it.. Its there for a life time.. Actually i like your schedule .. No sudden restrictions.. We spent years and decades over eating. Eventually you lose all within a year.

I actually ended up getting 1cc last Thursday and I finally feel the band! I was looking at other people's weight loss and how many cc's they were getting and I was feeling kind of bummed out last week. Thanks for all of the positive and encouraging responses!

I understand why the need for slow fills/slow progress but what do u say to impatient friends and family who expect after 6 weeks of wls u shld be down 60lbs?

Im 4cc's in a 10cc band for 16days now and my hunger has returned.

My nephew asked me over the weekend at the dinner table had they taken my band out!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
