Is Randy Jackson (Idol) gaining it back?

Recommended Posts

Last year I was amazed at how much weight Randy Jackson on Idol had lost, but it looks like he's packing it back on this year. I searched this forum without success to find out what operation he might have had, if any. There was some speculation he had the Fobi, but does anyone know for sure?

I noticed it too. Sad. :cry It seems someone on here said he had the "sleeve" surgery. Not sure b/c my memory doesn't always serve me correctly.

I ache for Randy... it seems to me that he's trying to hide the gain by wearing concealing shirts, keeping his arms in front of him & by leaning into the table. Simon is not the most caring & understanding of folks when it comes to weight. I dread when he starts picking on Randy about his weight again.

In the last issue of OH magazine there was an article that mentioned he did have the Fobi

He did have the fobi. If anyone is interested there's a web site that lists some of the stars that have had the fobi. www.cstobesity.com Roseanne also had the fobi, and last time I saw her on TV she looked like she'd gained quite a bit of it back.

Oprah did a show about the 500lb lady who had wls after 9/11. The woman stressed that wls gives a person an 18 month period in which to lose the weight after that you're on your own and have to watch what you eat and exercise to keep the weight off. There's a summary of the show on Oprah's web site.

The more I hear about the bypass surgeries the happier I am that I chose the lap band.

My surgeon said that Starr Jones had the lapband. I wish she would talk about it and tell us what she eats and help others by her experiences. Have I missed her talking about her surgery?

Unfortunately, two women I work with had bypass and lost really fast, only to gain. Think that is the #1 benefit of the band... we can always have a fill.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
