Fought with someone .. having stomach pain.. Anyone else? Help

Recommended Posts

Got into a pretty heated argument… Tuesday was surgery so im still healing but today i felt pretty good.. Got into an emotional argument yelling back and forth and crying - and im experiencing awful pain in my stomach.. in the area near where my port would be.. but really just uncomfortable.. its starting to subside but im wondering if the yelling, straining and being emotional could have done anything to hurt my band or ruin my healing? Please help. i know this probably sounds so stupid but im just concerned… :-x

I noticed in the beginning if I yelled it would hurt. As I healed it passed. Try to stay calm and let yourself heal.

I'm so sorry this happenned so soon after surgery when healing and taking good care of yourself is of primary importance. If you continue to feel pain I would contact your doctor. I hope you feel better soon. Think soothing thoughts and take care. All the best.

Wow such a horrible thing to happen when you have just had surgery! I bet the stress of everything is taking it's tole and that area is going to be really sore on and off anyways for a while. I still feel a tinge of pain here and there in the port for various reasons and have just learned to expect it. Take care!!

Thanks all... it had calmed down... lot going on around here and unfortunately no one except for Me is terribly concerned about my healing. I guess it partially has to do with hardly anyone knowing I had surgery.. sadly the argument was with a family member who did.. but what can ya do!? Thanks so much f or the support all! I'm so grateful I found this site! On a happy note: I stepped on the scale before bed (I knew, I shouldn't weigh myself this frequently or at the end of the day.. but I was 240!! 256 before pre op diet, 248.8 surgery day... and here I am 5 days post op end of a full day of liquids down almost 9lbs from surgery day! Can't wait till its noticeable!

Thanks again all

I also got into an emotional argument with my husband on the 3rd day after my surgery. I asked him to vacuumed and he started calling me out on the amount of dirt on the loot. We have 2 dogs and a cat in the house, and I have to clean every day to keep up with it. I started crying, yelling, and it made my stomach hurt so bad. It felt better later with my meds, and ice pack. My husband does not help me, and if I ask him to do something he gets upset or aggravated. The first day after surgery is about all the help and sympathy I get from him. I feel so guilty asking him for help. I still managed to cook for him, and do what needs to be done. The worst thing has been bending over or lifting. But in the end, we will be fine! Take care. Good luck.

I meant to say vacuumed, and amount of dirt on the floor! (Spelling)

Countryheart2000 it is to bad that your husband does not help.

30 years ago my wife had a hernia repair due to doing laundry and vacuuming to soon after a surgery. So the Doctor told me to do the job while she recovered. Apparently she still is not feeling any better since I am still doing the vacuuming and the laundry after all these years. :D

If you read through these threads you'll see band related symptoms due to stress. Many people complain of the band being too tight due to stress. Then after a fees days they're fine. The fast that you were still healing due to internal swelling as well as incision healing it's no wonder you were in pain! Stress can affect every part of our body just as the weather affects our bodies. Damp weather affects my osteoarthritis in the worst way that sometimes I cry. Since banding I can no longer take NSAIDs. If the weather is damp, I suffer. If I GET STRESSED OUT FROM AN ARGUMENT I feel my insides tightening so I try and relax as much as possible.congrats on your weight loss!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
