Exercise?

I'm sure this has been ask before but I can't seem to fin the question: how soon after surgery were you able to start exercising? My friend wants me to do a 10k walk/run ... It will be approximately 6 weeks out post surgery, is that too soon to think about going for it?

My doctor said 6 weeks. Ask yours. Each doctor has their rules. Walking was allowed the day after surgery within reason.

I was told that I could start walking on the treadmill at my 2-week checkup. No strenuous activity or weight lifting at this point. I'm 3 weeks post-op now and can do 45 minutes on the treadmill every day, but I'm not up to where I would normally be speed-wise.

I don't know if I'd be up for a 10k in just another 3 weeks.
