So I am on mishies and i just went to lunch at Olive Garden and had the Zuppa Soup which is a broth soup with potatoes in it, I took out the potatoes and put them on a small plate cut them into tiny bites and then would sip on the broth, well all of a sudden I got this weird panic feeling and I rushed to the bathroom walked around and started to feel better then I took a sip of tea an got the same feeling so we left and now I'm home and I still feel kinda weird like something won't go down but it's not necessarily stuck, then I let out a couple burps which kinda helped lol but now my stomach is growling?? I don't know just thought I'd see if any of you had experienced anything like that. Maybe I just ate to fast ???³

Most likely your stomach is still swollen from the surgery and just a little food can cause this feeling. Give it an hour or so and it should break down and pass through.

One thing I've found is that if I'm stuck drinking something DOES NOT HELP usually. It tends to just back up on top of whatever is stuck. You can do the bandster dance which is walking around, putting your arms over your head, jumping up and down, etc. The best thing to do is just avoid being stuck in the first place. The good thing you did was stop eating. That's generally what causes problems. If one bite gets stuck I can usually wait it out. Kind of like a slow truck going over a bridge. However, if I start sending more traffic down the lane...oh man it backs up quick. Don't forget you shouldn't drink at least 30 minutes after you eat though. That's a good rule to always follow.

I think I know what I did, I used a straw!! I completely forgot about it and my doctor has told me not to use then because I swallow extra air. Do you think that could have attributed to it?

I hope you are feeling better now. My doctor had me stay away from restaurant foods for about the first six months, so I would have a better gage on what my band would tolerate or not. You did a good thing by cutting up the potatoes but the cream and sausage could have irritated your stomach. When I first got my band in I noticed how hot and really cold foods affected my band, so if you were having hot Soup and iced tea at the same time that could be it.

That's true! Didn't think about that but I stayed far away from the sausage, but the spices and stuff could have irritated it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
