Im still hungry but havent had my first fill.... Is that normal?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery Aug 2 and the pain is almost gone. But when I eat, I feel like I could eat a burger and I'm not feeling restricted or too full. Im on mushies now and I haven't had a burger, but I was wondering if anyone feels this way? I thought it would hurt to take regular bites (that are mot mushy) or I'd get full really fast, but that's not the case. I haven't had my first fill yet so maybe it will help when I do. Any thoughts? I am getting fuller now than from before wls.

I had my surgery the same day. I am still on liquids until Friday. I can't tell I was banded either. Looks like this may be normal :)

I'm 6 weeks out and will get my first fill the 27th of August. In my experience; once the swelling go's down everything is about the same as before surgery. For me the only difference is if I eat to fast I get stuck but not to the point of sliming (if I check myself fast enough) . Slimmed only once and don't want to do that again, because of the pain. Biggest problem still remains head hunger. When you can eat regular food again and time until you start getting fills is called BANDSTER'S HELL for good reason!

the band wont stop you from being hungry....it will help you eat less..

since you are so recently banded, as your swelling as went down, your hunger has returned.....this is where you learn how to control head hunger vs really being hungry....focus on Protein and drinking alot and stay busy and get your mind off the food.....(i am 14 months post op with no fills yet..so you can lose weight with the band and no fills (or even alittle fill).......eat smart, eat your allotted amount and get well...best of luck to you..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
