At a stand stil...

Recommended Posts

I was banded nov 1, 2011. I have lost a total of about 60lbs and no more since. My original dr never would give me a fill when I felt it was needed then after he finally did I really didn't lose anymore weight. I found a new dr who is very thorough. I have had 1 more fill with the new dr and things are ok eating wise, but I am still not losing anymore weight! (Not gaining any thank goodness). I attend Zumba 3/4 days a week, go to the gym and walk a mile or 2 on the treadmill and then lift some weights in the mornings. I don't always eat what I am suppose to, but for the most part I eat small healthy portions. some days I just want to give up and have the band taken out...... Am I the only one going through this? How do I get out of this rut?

Hi! I am one month postop. I lost 20 pounds between preop and the week following surgery, but for the last 3 weeks, I haven't lost a pound. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and eat healthy. Who knows what the heck is going on in our bodies???

I am also at a stand still. I exercise 2-3 times a week, do cardio another 2 days and eat small healthy portions. I lost 55 lbs. in the first 6 months after surgery, I haven't lost anything since, and am coming up on my one year anniversary of getting banded. What is going on? I figure my body was getting adjusted to the loss. but this is going on for too long. I know I'm not in the green zone yet, but that didn't matter when I lost the first 50 lbs. Would like to get moving down on the scale again, but don't know how to jump start it. Suggestions?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
