Buy a Wii or XBox for Fun Exercise

Recommended Posts

I want a fun way to exercise ! I realized that I need something at my house to get me going . Either before work or after work. Which is better?

I haven't tried it myself but ive heard a lot about Bodyrocktv.com. Its supposed to have all sorts of FREE workouts you can do at home. Ive also heard of Insanity Workouts. We did get the Tony Horton 10 minute Trainer a long time ago, tried it a few times and really felt like a strong workout. We don't do it anymore as we have no room to do it but it was a good workout. Maybe look into some of them, or see if your local library has workout videos. etc. Good luck !

I love playing Dance Central on XBox. I keep playing to beat my score. It makes exercising fun. I also, like Hip Hop Abs.

I had a Wii and now have a WiiU. I like it for a mild workout like Wii Fit (tracks my weight and progress). Then I have work workout games like Zumba for more intense cardio (and boy it will get you sweating). I have several friends with XBOX kinect who love it too though.

We have both but the wii fit has a weight restriction so I can't use it at my current weight.... :( I can still do the just dance games on wii though, the xbox games are fun. The wii games are easier to cheat on but with the xbox connect it is a camera sensor so no cheating lol.

We have XBOX360 with Kinect and it is such a blast! Not needing to hold controls is a plus, the minus is the Kinect needs a little more room as you cannot be too close to the TV. I have used the Wii and it is fun as well... if price is a factor, you can probably get a Wii for cheaper.

Does the Wii have as large a variety of exercise specific titles? I know the 360 has many great titles plus the various dancing and action/sports games.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
