My first fill!

Recommended Posts

Yay! I was down 5 more lbs and I got my first fill. I am 7 weeks into my journey and I am down 26lbs. I'm excited but I need to get myself moving more and working out. The fill was not painful at all. I'm on liquids for the next 24 hours. What should I expect?

Well sometimes fills make a big difference and sometimes no difference at all. Surprisingly, sometimes fills don't really kick in for up to a week. Basically, just take things easy. Chew your food well once you are on solids again and you might even consider trying mushies before you go full blown solids. I usually do a liquid meal like a Protein Shake, then a mushie meal, and finally a solid meal to test the effectiveness of a new fill. Good luck!

Congrats on doing so great! I had my surgery June 11, lost 27 pounds so far and got my first fill yesterday. The fill was not as bad as I expected. A little uncomfortable but not painful so I was relieved. Getting my surgery was the best decision I ever made and I am so happy. Not only am I fitting into clothes better but I have more energy and feel so much better. Also my skin has been so much better and that wasn't something I expected. Good luck to all of you :-)

As you lose weight and your stomach becomes leaner the band can feel looser. This happened to me often when I would get a fill, lose weight, then 'lose' restriction. As you continue to lose weight and get fills this will happen less frequently until you find a good balance and reach your green zone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
