4 Fills and 6 Months

Recommended Posts

After 4 fills and 6 months, I finally have "real" restriction. :clap2: My previous fills helped me to lose weight, but I have always been able to eat pretty much anything I want, and had to really work hard not to over eat. Now, I can only eat a few ounces of food, and I have to really chew chew chew, which really slows down my eating too. :hungry: I hope this fill will kick my loss into high gear.

:)

What size band to you have? I have the inamed 11cm/9cc band. I have only had 2 fills and I am at 6cc, do for another fill VERY SOON. This last fill had some restriction, hoping this next is the sweet one, running out of fill room.

Terri,

I have the Inamed VG band. My doctor said it can hold up to 12cc including the tube. I don't know how much I have now, but it must be over 10cc, that is what I had at fill number 2.

Sounds like you may need another fill. Just keep going back until it is right, like I said it took me 4 fills and 6 months.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
