Has anyone tried body wraps to loose extra skin?

Recommended Posts

My moms friend has done them and lost inches. I have my first vist with the doctor next week. I like to look ahead to things I could do if I have extra skin.

Those body wraps work on either dehydration, heat, or a combination of both. Any results are temporary and will be reversed if you stop using the product regularly.

You can try to avoid loose skin as you lose weight- stay hydrated, exercise, and don't smoke- but the bottom line is once you already have lose skin there is no way to shrink it. You either have it removed via plastic surgery or you live with it.

My surgery roommate swears by them. She was so into them that she bought into a company. I have not tried them, but maybe when I have a bit of extra money, I will call her for a try!

IMO wraps are just a temporary illusion. Most of it is Fluid loss which is not the preferred way to lose excess Fluid - nor is it good to be (or force) dehydration.

as others have said, you lose Water weight (ONLY)

to lose actual weight, you must burn off the extra calories and not eat more calories than you burn off...just eat less and exercise (and let the band do its job) and not waste $ on gimmicks......just my opinion.

I know there has to be a semi natural way to help tighten up loose skin... I am still trying to do some research for options. I hope to not have any extra skin by losing weight slowly staying hydrated and exercising. Like I have said I just like to plan ahead I have not been banded yet.

i totally get it..

but missy was right..skin sag is based on age, genetics, the amount of weight one has to lose, skin etc...if you are a large person, such as me, there is gonna be some sag...you can exericse/tone as best you can and deal with the sag or have surgery....but in my two cents, my upper arms are bat wings and i can take flight and most likely fly to Austin, TX to visit my friend Amanda there but i will take sag over being obese any day of the week and twice on sunday.

its how you accept it...

I want 8 pack abs so bad but the best I may get is a 4 pack due to the excess skin and sag. I won't give up without a huge battle but if all I end up with is a 4 pack - well... I'll take that over a pot belly any day!

We have to work hard and make the best of what we have but the perfection of a 20 year old body after what our bodies have endured is likely not a reasonable goal.

Hi FentonMama,

I was banded in 2009 and while working out and eating healthy (now vegetarian), I still had loose skin. I found a friend who sold It Wraps and decided to try them. Yes!!! They work, but you have to use the wraps properly by drinking a lot of Water, eating healthy, and maintaining an exercise regimen. You do not loose Water weight!!! What happens is the natural ingredients detox your body while toning, tightening, and & firming your skin. Without the wraps, my skin would be way worse even with my intense workouts.

Good luck on your weight loss. Keep it up!

Please check out my true story on my site and email me with any questions. I specifically love to work with bariatric patients because I share the same story of struggle.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
