I weighed myself on friday and ding ding ding... halfway to my goal weight! Almost 3 months after surgery and I am so excited! Only 6 pounds away from Onederland :) Even with all these great things I have been having a rough weekend sticking to my diet... parties ext. It seems like everyone on here sticks to their diets really well am I the only one?

First off, congratulations! You must be so proud of yourself :-)

Second, no you are not alone when it comes to sticking to your diet! I had been doing pretty well but the last 7-10 days have been so off for me. I use My Fitness Pal to track what I eat, and I've only gone over my daily calories twice (not by a lot) but it helps to see where my problem areas are.

I just keep reminding myself that I'm not on a diet, there will be good days and bad days, and the scale is moving in the right direction and my clothes are falling off, lol!

Congrats! That is a great feeling.

I am not on solids yet, but I am going to say that life is still going to happen. I don't believe in deprivation, but moderation. I plan to track what I eat and stick to good choices 90%-95% of the time, but if life happens, I plan on enjoying it, with in reason, and keeping track. I know this can be more easily said than done, but I put too much into this to sabotage myself.

Congrats hon. And no, we all struggle. I'm at 155 trying to get to 150 and it seems like it's going to take 5 years before I get there... having lots of head hunger and grazing doesn't help hahaha. We all have our up and down days..just hang in there :)

I had to do a band friendly food shop to get more healthy foods in bc all of a sudden, summer started and it was too easy to have ice cream or graze. At least when I see the healthy stff easily available I am more likely not to eat unhealthy.

You inspire me to do better. Look how long ago I was banded and how little I've lost.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
