Hey Funny, It took me a while but I finally found the nutritional info on the Isopure Zero Carb drinks. They are made by Nature's Best and if you look online you can get a case of 12 for about $37. Having 40 grams of Protein in each drink means you'd want to space out one bottle over a day. Your body won't absorb more than, I think it was 23 grams of Protein at a time. I'll check on that to be sure.

"Isopure has no sugar, no carbs, no preservatives, no fat and is lactose free. Contains 40 grams of the purest protein known to science in a 20 oz. bottle. Isopure has a taste that is easily accepted. Fresh, not too sweet, invigorating and pure.

Isopure may well prevent the loss of lean tissue. It may replace egg whites and soft cheese, skim milk and low fat frozen yogurt, even red meat, as a primary source of protein."

Here's one that has the drinks for $36.99. Haven't checked the shipping costs yet. You can also call your local health and Vitamin stores, like GNC or Bodybuilding.com and see if they have it in stock.

Ok, I've been reading more on this and here's what I've found so far. This is from a site selling nutrition supplements and this article was focused on RnY patients so I haven't copied it all. If you are interested in reading the article in its entirety, the addy is: http://www.vitalady.com/why_protein.htm

Protein is initially broken down in the upper small intestine, just outside the lower stomach, using an enzyme manufactured there called trypsin. Once broken down, Protein is best absorbed in that first 12 to 18 inches out of the stomach.

Protein is best absorbed in amounts of no more than 30g at one time. Professional athletes can do a little better, but for weight loss surgery patients, 30g would be a good try. More protein won’t hurt, but is just wasted. Unless you are very distal, two drinks of 30g each is an excellent start toward a healthy protein intake.

Don't buy online if your from Houston. AT the GNC in Memorial City Mall they are on sale usually for 2.50 a bottle. I usually finish a bottle in 36 hours and spread the Protein out if I'm not too low on protein. If am am running too low over a 24 hour period, I just finish a bottle in a 24 hour period.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
