Cuz I'm green, finally! I've had my band for a year and a half and done well with very small fills. I thought I was in the green, but never really knew what that might feel like. Soooo for you newbies, pay attention to how you feel the first few days after surgery, before regular hunger sets in. Write it down so you remember, because this is what the green zone feels like!

I started with zero in my band and now have 3.4. I've had about 5 fills, I think, of about .5 and .2 the last few times. Until now, I've been dieting to some extent.. With help from my band. I knew there had to be something more... And this is it! I can still eat anything, but the heightened interest in food is diminished. I am also satisfied with much less food each sitting.

If you are a year or more in, and still struggling, don't give up hope! :-)

So jealous! I am 3 1/2 months in.. And I have 7.3 in a 10cc band. I'm starving all the time. I only have a little restriction ! Dear lord I hope it doesn't take over a year :-/

Well I'm sure I could have had bigger fills earlier, but it was my and my drs choice to take it very slow and easy. I started out at lower BMI than than many here, but have done very well relatively, even not in the green. Portion Control, exercise, and fluids are key for sure!

Good luck to you; there are many great ideas on this site for steps to take when you're in still in bandster hell. I hope that in the meantime, you are still losing some?

Well, I was banded in October and its June. I have yo-yo'ed with the same ten pounds since I left the hospital. I keep hearing there hope but since I am out if my network and now out of insurance, i don't have a clue as to where to turn.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
