I took off work two weeks. Then did "light duty", no lifting, etc for a couple more.

I was off for a week and two days- I had my surgery on a Tuesday and would have been fine to go bak on Monday except my work requires a return to work form after three days and I didn't go back to see my doctor until the Wednesday after and that's when I got my RTW form.

I had surgery on a Friday and tried to go back to work on Tuesday- ended up only working a half day. Then I went back full time on Wed. But, I am at a desk most of the time.

As far as getting preg- some docs opt to take all the Fluid out, some only take out Fluid if needed. Before you try, just ask you doc their take and follow their rules.

Everyone responds differently after surgery. But I would say, if you can pull it off, take two weeks.

I was off a week -- but that seventh day when I went back turned out to be my worst day post surgery. After that particular day, I was fine.

Oh, and as far as getting pregnant, I've done some research on that because my daughter wants lapband and wants to make sure it doesn't interfere with fertility...

What I've found is that it is often easier to get pregnant after some weight loss, and the pregnancies seem to be very normal.

I took off 4 days...and wish I'd taken a full week. I was soooo tired those first few days. Give yourself enough time to heal and rest.

I'm going to be honest, it took me at least a week before I started feeling better. I felt like a Mack truck had hit me between the post op pain and the gas pains. After that I felt great!

My doctor does both the band and the sleeve. He requires an overnight stay for the band and a 3 night stay for the sleeve. It is important that you are prepared for some discomfort after surgery. I'm glad I had an overnight stay because I did have pain and I was able to get pain bed injections the first night. After that I was discharged with Lortab and can say I'm happy that I did not have ambulatory day surgery because I really needed that stay in case complications set in. The hospital gave me the famous clear liquid diet of tea, broth and sugar free Jello. They also allowed me a very small apple juice. The clear liquid diet was soothing and I did it for a week. Then I went to full liquids like yogurt, creamy Soup and I was on that for a week, then I went to soft foods. It's a matter of trial and error on what you can eat. I can eat most anything but much smaller portions. My favorite snack now is fresh pineapple chunks. It's sweet and juicy. So be prepared for everything and you should do fine. Best wishes!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
