And I am nervous!! My doctor didnt tell me to do any liquid diets but I have cut down on meals. I drink 2 liquid shakes (Breakfast and dinner) and have a small lunch of light things. Yogurt, cottage cheese, small salad.. etc.

the last 3 days I will go straight liquid.

I got all my Vitamins, Protein powders, cleaned my room, cleaned the house, etc.. now its just count down ... I am nervous

I am scared to death.

I am excited and I am thrilled...

I still cannot get my mind wrapped around the idea of 2 to 3 tablespoons filling me up but I will cross that bridge when it gets there.

Ugh any last minute suggestions??

I'm nervous too and I'm not until June 26. I made the mistake of watching the lap band surgery on YouTube. LOL.

Stock up on gas-x strips and don't forget chapstick. You will both do fine! Congratulations on your surgery dates. Come back to let us know how you make out! Lapband is the best thing I have ever done for myself!

Lol! I watched YouTube surgeries, too. A year out I still do from time to time. Still freaks me out as much as it did the first time. Lol

I did the same thing! I'm one of those people that has to know how things work. I'm glad I watched it. It helps me understand just where the band is and how it works. GW will take great care of ya...he's the best!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
