I haven't had a large loss post surgery....only about 4 lbs in two months.

I'm wondering if anyone else has started off losing slow but was still successful in the long run. I have about 150 lbs to go to reach my goal, after losing 54 lbs during the presurgery withing period.

I'm two weeks into my first fill, and i don't weigh again until my next fill on June 14. I'm losing inches just not pounds.

Appreciate your advice!

Most people don't lose till there first fill. Now all thats important is healing and practicing the rules.

I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and then nothing for the next 14 weeks. Then I got my 4th fill and starting feeling satisfied and ate less food. I've lost 50 lbs now since surgery and have about another 25 lbs to go.

If you're losing inches you must be exercising a lot? Replacing lost fat with new muscle cells will make it appear that you're not losing weight but you are losing fat.

if you are losing inches then you are losing weight

regardless of what the scale say or does not say

It can be a little frustrating in the beginning but stick with it! It is so worth it...

I was losing 1 lb a day, but now that I added back food, not losing so fast. It's ok. I knew it would slow down, but still sad. No fill for me until 6/19!

I lost fast at first and then have slowed down alot since my 3rd fill. Now only losing about 1 pound per week, but just keep working the program and trying to figure out what food to eat and how much to keep the weight loss going. Walking about 1 to 2 miles per day helps too. Keep up the good work.

Just wondering how you are doing now.. this is me i lose so slow that any kind of Water retention affects me on the scales.. I've seen some inches lost but that has also slowed.. my third fill is next week hoping that third time is the charm as well Bandister HELL is aptly named as i'm there right now feeling very discouraged and unhappy need to stay of the scale for a few days and just concentrate on being healthy...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
