Think of this as a lessons learned thing Sweetpea. Stay away from fast food joints. There is nothing healthy for you there. Would you go into a bar if you were an alcoholic? Food is our addiction and until you see some real results, it will be hard to walk away from yummy yummy bad food. Start to investigate yummy yummy good food. It's out there...just search for it. Look up websites, make better choices. Heck, I bet there's even a healthier version of a taco salad. You can eat refried bean and tomatoes and even a dash of sour cream. This way, you can eat a taco salad and not feel bad. Good luck....you can do this!

Taco Bell is definitely my downfall. I luv their nacho bell grandes. I can only eat about 1/3 of them now. A whole taco salad? I'd say you're definitely in bandster hell. Thats the time from surgery till the time you reach perfect restriction (which was my 3rd fill, 4 mths post op). Even after a slipped band and the ability to eat MUCH more than I have in the past 3 1/2 yrs, I can't eat a whole taco salad from Taco Bell.

Be patient. You WILL reach your perfect point sooner or later. And those of the "perfect banders" who NEVER eat a fast food or "cheat" I say "PHOOEY". You are either lying or didn't need wls to begin with! You still live in a world that revolves around food. You need the restriction that the band provides otherwise it's just another diet. And we all know how those work out.... Good luck. And give yourself a break. Truth be told, I'm sure most of us has eaten too much of/wrong foods during the early parts of surgery...

I can't figure out how you were able to eat a taco salad, 2 weeks post op? I was still on mushy foods by then.. My Dr said you have to heal.. first 6 weeks should be taking it slow, I could have eaten the refried Beans and possibly tomatoes if they were small but doubt I could have eaten the bowl which is actually a tortilla... anyway there are several things you can eat at fast food places.. I eat @ Chic filet sometimes if I'm around one.. their chicken tortilla Soup is awesome.. only 260 calories .. about 1 cup .. if nothing else they have grilled chicken nuggets.. Wendy's has great chili.. I'm not sure about McDonald's never have liked that though.. you just haven't had enough time yet to get discouraged.. my Dr also said not to worry about working out until 6 weeks... Good Luck and be good to yourself..

dont know about the band h*** phase but you should be eating your allotted amount and a complete taco salad is way over the recommended cup.....just because we can eat more doesnt mean we should....its over and done...eat more Protein to fill you up and eat fruit and veggies...much better than fast foods.........and def keep drinking and exercising

I have gotten in the habit of looking at the restaurant's nutrition information before I go, which usually surprises the heck out of me. Things I would order before the band, I would never dream of ordering now because of the calorie content. Taco Bell is one of the first I looked at and WOW- I was amazed. It's just not worth it to me anymore. Good luck to you!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
