Fill #2 today!!

Recommended Posts

I had my appointment today, got asked the same questions as last time. Admitted to eating larger portions than needed and having problems eating too fast. I wasn't really getting stuck as much as being uncomfortable and waiting for the food to finally bounce past the band.

With that info we added 1cc today bringing me to 3cc total. Learning from last time I will be on liquids the rest of the day and tomorrow as well.

Surgery date March 20th, 2013 I was 256lbs

Today I weighed in at 237.8lbs

They want me to get to 199lbs and at 6ft tall I want to get to 180-185 lbs and be out of the overweight bmi category. To their standards I have lost 31%of my excess weight, for my goal I have lost 23%.

I really haven't been exercising at all. I need to start because I have a 5k walk to do on June 1st for a Corporate Cup event for work. Oh yeah she was harping on me not getting enough sleep too.

They set me up for another appointment in 2 weeks, we will see how much I improve with exercise!

I have the 10cc band. I had some problems early on with a 4cc prime right out of surgery and had a hernia repair as well. I was so swollen that I would get pills stuck and Water was even a difficult thing if drank too fast. I'm hopeful with this fill that I will be close to green, but that's yet to be seen.

Everyone is different, but for me it did not hurt at all. It was so easy, didn't feel a thing. Good Luck!

For me, it depends on who is doing it. The first time I got Fluid removed and the needle didn't hurt at all, the same nurse took Fluid again due to my hernia repair healing and irritation of he esophagus. The next time I got a fill and it hurt a little, but it was a different nurse. The port area was sore for like a day or two. The last fill was the same as last time, same nurse, same soreness.

With the first nurse there was no soreness at all. The fill process is very quick, I make sure to tell them I am ticklish... Lol. The first time I almost hit her because arms jersey so much. Guess I have to get over being ticklish.

I would pay my doctor's June mortgage payment if he'd give me permission to eat a grilled cheese sandwich. I haven't had a sandwich in seven months.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
