Oh man let me tell you.. I knew that my kids had the flu and I worked real hard to just stay away as much as I could. I kept washing my hand and wiped everything down with clorox wipe.. Last night around 9pm all hell broke lose.

I knew I was going to puke and I was so scared I ended up calling my lapband doctor which he was great. Once the puking started it was like dry because I had to squeeze it back up the band.OUCH! Then at one point it was coming at both ends at the same time. I have maxed myself out on emodem (sp) and finally it has slowed down down there:phanvan

I puked 4 times during the night and my chest feels tight.

So I hope this help someone if they get the flu.. It is not fun with the band.

Next year I think I might get the flu shot??

Ginger,

I sure hope you are feeling better!

What did your doctor recommend?

Take care!

Debra

No drinking for rest of the night.

Imoduim for the diarrhea.

And Compazine which was a suppository for the tummy pains.

To be honest nothing helped at first.

Today-Monday I'm feeling better but my chest is still killing me.

I'm going to spend the day in bed.

Just for future reference, you should keep some Fenergan (sp?) suppositories in your fridge for when things like this happens. You should be able to get a script form your PCP. I hope you are feeling better now.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
