Recommended Posts

I grilled out the other day some salmon....went down day 1 great..... Tried to warm up left overs..... Still very moist, small bites..... Won't go down gets stuck..... Has anyone had this problem..... Am I to tight.... So confused because I was able to eat it day 1 with no problem at all! Any input would be great... Thanks!

I had a very hard time with reheated Proteins for awhile... I still don't know why it stopped, I find a sauce of some sort helped. Also, being really aware of chewing and using your saliva to moisten helped a lot. Hang in!

I don't even attempt leftover meat anymore. It's just too dry after being stored in the fridge and reheated. Dry meat (or fish) is about the only thing I'm guaranteed to get stuck on and leftover meat is always way too dry for me.

You're not alone. One of the most painful stuck episodes I've had was from leftover grilled shrimp I put in the microwave. Ouch!

being to tight would be every meal not just certain meals right? I found it to be that way I never make more then I can eat at one meal for the reason everyone said.

I was stuck for the 1st and 2nd time in 6 months and both times were leftovers, they went down the first time okay but the second time was not so pretty.

I am like Missy, left over Protein doesn't work for me. I only eat left over veggies.

That is interesting. I have never heard of that. My band is unpredictable. I will get stuck on something one day and then the next day have no trouble. I think the longer I go between meals the tighter I feel. Does that make sense? Anybody else have that problem.....well i guess thats really not a problem. :)

Actually yes, I find I get tighter the longer I go between meals too. In fact if I let myself go from hungry to "omg I'm starving", I find the band tightens up a lot. I keep a Protein bar in my purse just in case I am getting to that point and need something quick to eat.

I had left over salmon and reheated it in a fry pan with some olive oil and had no problem. I almost never use a microwave to reheat. When I have left over Chinese food I stir fry it and it tastes great.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
