Fills in San Diego??

Recommended Posts

Hi there.....Is anyone in this forum in San Diego? ?

I really need to see a doc about a fill & was hoping to get a recommendation? Also, I've never gotten a fill anywhere, other than in Mexico so I don't even know if it's covered under my insurance so I'll be calling them to find out. I had pretty much hit my "sweet spot" & haven't had a fill in about 4 years? I'm not even exactly sure if that's what I need or if my band has slipped but I'm not having any obvious bad reactions when I eat or anything, I just all of a sudden started gaining weight out of nowhere & it's really scaring me :/

I've been at my goal weight for quite a while....my original start weight was 385 lbs & I got down to 150-155 but I actually preferred 155-160 because at 150, I got a few too many comments from family & friends that I was getting too skinny?!!! Really?? So I went from being self conscious about being obese @ 385 lbs to being self conscious that people were saying I was losing too much weight, which as I'm sure many of you know is like a first for us big girls! (Or guys). Anyway, I'm in desperate need of a fill doc cuz this is getting scary & I never want to go back to that weight again! :(

Thanks for "listening" to me ramble :)

Michelle

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
