Weel the surgery went well. The doc fixed a hiatal hernia that I didnt know I had during my banding. This evevning I have a throbbing pain in my left clavicle/neck/ and shoulder. Gas pains I suzpecf. I was given Lortab elixer for pain. I am sippi.g on Water and having no trouble getting about 30 ml in at a time. Taking Zofran for some underlying nausea. It is hard to go from lying down to sitting though...I look pretty funny doing it. I am having trouble sleeping...I am exhausted but sleep wont come. Think it may be the medicine.

Hi Phelanlucky,

I was banded two days ago and have the same pain in the same area....I was told it is gas. I plan to try some gasX today and see if I can get it out...LOL. I was also given Lortab elixer for pain and I stay to the lowest dose because it knocks me right out. Sorry you are having trouble sleeping....maybe try the gas X and if it works, the pain med won't be needed and you can sleep. Feel better soon....

Congrats, walk if you can. Take care of yourself, and remember, you just had surgery, best wishes for a great recovery. Karen

Congratulations! Everyone I've talked to stresses the importance of walking and gas-x for pain relief. My nurse said to keep up with the gas-x during the first week out, even when you don't feel the pain. Good luck!

I am 3 days post op now. I am less sore and have a little relief from gas pains. I have had alot if phlem build up and been trying to drink warm Water for that and gently cough. The soreness is like when you over did sit ups and you get sore...well its like that x2 for me. I slept a little better last night. I was told to take my bandages off today and shower but to leave the steri strips intact. I will fo that today for sure. Not hungry so that is good,

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
