Nana, give me more details. Since you and I were banded less then a month apart, I like to keep up with your 'problems'.

Did the tightness occur suddenly? Did you have any Reflux associated with this?

last question...

has your doctor ever requested for you to get an endoscopy?

I really REALLY need a check-up. But... but... but... -cant find a good enough excuse NOt to go - just procrastination, i guess.

I was at 1.8cc's and Dr. said I needed a fill. He put me to 2.0cc's On the way home three hour drive I was fine but had to pee every 15 min.

That evening I had chicken broth and was fine but very tired.

I work up and tried to eat Soup and PBed it back up almost instantly. I was really tired went back to bed woke up at noon tried Jello Pded. Back to bed dinner time tried Soup pbed.

Day 3 woke up didnt eat too scared now drank Water felt like it dat on my tummy for days...

lunch time I tried soup again (mind you just cause I couldnt get dont mean I was STARVING by this time) That bite made me instantly puke and dry heave until I was crying. Hubby made me call Dr. as Im a real hard head..

went in next morning Dr completly unfilled me said I was very near in hosp. for dehydration my urine was "Brown" my lips and skin flakey and I had black eyes also I had lost 9 pounds in 3 days...

So I went a month with no fill

Next apt. Dr put me at 2.0cc Water would not go down so he droped it to 1.8 ccs it felt okay to me so I left. I felt okay with 1.8ccs for about 2 weeks~ then the indejestion started and if I ate meaty things Pbed.

This got worse but it wasnt the same as before so I did the normal Back to liquids let my tummy heal basic rules. I cut out anything that had spice because it gave me indejestion.

By the begining of the 4th week after fill I was carryin' a bottle of liquid acid medication in my purse chewing tums and having indejestion from drinking water....

I did not want a repeat of last time so I called Dr. again Im in and again Im unfilled he said unfilled for 1 month but as the time fell we went on vacation to Mississippi so I didnt actually go in for a refill until 2 months after I was unfilled.

So at this At he says he want so start me again at 1.8 too much no go..He drops it down to 1.5ccs and the water is sitting in my throat Im gurrgling and shaking my head no. He drops it down to 1.o and it sounded like drain O had been poured down my throat. This loud GURGLE GURGLE BLUP and he said there it is!

So I went home w/ 1.0 ccs in my band and so far have been great (X fingers)

He said it was strange how I was at 1.8 and fine but 2.0 closed me off and now w/out fill for 2 moths 1.5 closes me off so Im starting over basicly.

whew thats a mouthfull and Im not checking for typos LOL

Plunder Bunny,

This is off the subject but I think your pictures are real sexy!!!

Seminole, Im glad someone else told her that.

(((*nudging Nana* You see??? I told you.))))

Nana, Im going to send this thread link to LaMadam and ask he to read it. I remember when she was completely unfilled then refilled later, she couldnt handle the last fill amount. (did that make sense?)

very interesting.

Ya its like my stomach relaxed so when I got the fill at what I was at before it was too tight. Thats why I said its like starting over. Ya know how when we first got banded very lil fill went a long way and we worked our way up to bigger fills.

I think if someone was at their fill limit and had been there awhile and need more fill but could because their at the limit. If they got unfilled completely and could maintain weight or not gain too much back with in a 2/3 month time that that person could come back with a smaller fill be full and have some room to fill again. Does that make sense? lol

Nana, I know for me when I was completely unfilled for 2 months I was at 2.5 cc's before my unfill..then when I went in for my fill there was no way I could go past 1.5 cc's. I asked why before my unfill I had 2.5 and then with the refill I could only handle 1.5. My Dr. said this happens alot, things shift and move around etc.., he said he rarely sees ap atient who had an unfill be able to go back the their original fill level when they refill. ...I am glad to see this is working for you now, sounds like you had quite an ordeal :grouphug:

I'm at less of a fill now than I was at even my first fill. I had my first fill, then got my second, then about 4 months later started getting tigher and tighter. I got a little unfill, but also some of the fill had evaporated, like sometimes happens... and I haven't had a fill since. *shrug* lol

exactly. My Dr. kept saying Id be back in , in a few weeks for another fill but Nope Im still doing just fine I'm eatting the correct amounts.

What weird is the weight isnt moving lol I know it takes time. Im not one of the people you read say I lost 2 pound then next week 2 and so on...I seem to stay at a stand still for 3-4 weeks then wham 5-6 pounds are gone then again...so Im trying not to think about the fact that going w/o a fill put me walking down the 200/199 line again...

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
