Ok I lost nothing last week. So far I been told my WL has been good. In the back of my mind I always think about my PCOS. I have to work double time to get the weight off and triple to keep it off. Have any of you, had this issue with your PCOS?

well i haven't been banded yet but i have pcos and that is one of the main reasons i'm getting this done. my doctor told me that once i drop 60 lbs i shouldn't have any symptoms of pcos that your body sort of starts a new and your hormones change and less cortisol is released you will start to ovulate again so on and so forth. hope this helped.

Im wishing you the best of luck on your journey. Some people get the surgery for other reasons, none is more important than the other. But this right here is a challenge. GOOD LUCK!

I most definitely think we I have to work harder to lose due to PCOS but I think about pre surgery diet and I would work so hard doing everything right and maybe lose 5 lbs in 3 months so I am so thankful that my hard work is finally paying off. I was never a eat too much kind of person. I was always on a diet that never worked on looking the next one to try. Now in 2 moths I've lost 20lbs and for the first time in my life I'm not on a diet per say just eating smaller portions. Could not be happier. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
