Would like feedback on my new website

Recommended Posts

First off before I even start...I'm not asking "you" to donate to my site. I am asking for your input and advice. I only want people to donate if the "Want" to donate.

I have seen alot of sites online of young girls asking for donations for breast augumations. What suprised me is that people donate to them just for offering before and after photos. I have seen some pretty horrible porn type sites but I have also seen some sites w/ tasteful non porn like photos.

Yesterday I sat down and worked my ars off building this site! matter o fact I have not been to bed yet since I woke up yesterday!

I signed up with Adsense google and I get ad's I pick how many etc. on my site pages. they pick up words that I write about to pick the type of ads on my site.

SO I have alot of surgery stuff thus surgery ads.. but the neat think ( I think its neat) is that when people come in and they want to know lets say about the lap band..when they click the ads taking you to medical sites about the band I get paid! I thought that was neat! I dont know how much yet I just know I can make anywhere from .01 - 20.00 a click! just for looking at the ads!

Now I cant make money by clicking my own ads matter o fact if I click my own ads I can get banned! All in all I thought it was neat. and the money from the clicks will go to the Donation fund~

And I know its real because My sister in laws friend runs a Gaming website and he make 400.00 a month running a blog about video games! How cool is that?!

I just want you to flip thru tell me what you think of the site, what you like, what you thnk could be better, what you hate whatever lol

Hey Plunder, love your website. I think alot of us have our own sites too.

I do link exchanges on mine and my ebay auctions - but I get most of my clicks via google words ads in my ebay user acct - free for certain types of accts you have.

Great success so far with your WL, good luck on your donations.

I think you did a very good job. It's honest. There was someone else here last month looking for donations, but with your site, I don't feel like I'm being scammed when I go to it.

Thanks ya'll I welcome the feedback.

Google word ads. Is the the google part where your the ones with the ads? I mean your ad on someones page? I have not looked into that.

I'm adding a Blog to the site just as soon as I can figure how to import it..

I do link exchanges as well as the word. Say my business is home decor and gifts - I get 200 free words per month and when someone searches on google for one of the words I put in like Gifts, Home, Decor etc then they get a link with my site on it.

Basically, the way I do mine, is opposite of the way you do yours, but this is because it is Ebay linked and that is where I do most of my business.

I think your site is very nice, very classy, and of course honest. It seems to be a great way to get donations for what you want! Good luck!!

Plunder sorry to take up so much of your thread - Mod please move it if this is a problem :(

Leenerbups my ebay store or my webstore?

Ebay I have had a merchant account for 4 years or so - its anywhere from $15-$200 per month for the store, depending on the one you choose and your needs. The free google words are in the higher ranged merchant stores.

My webstore is purchased - I cannot remember how much it is. There are links on it www.affordabledecorandgifts.net I want to say $199 - $300 per year? I have a few other webstores that are rolled into this one and dragged over some merchandise to make it one store :)

The only problem I find with this wholesale company is their customer service leaves alot to be desired. Sometimes orders I place, do not get shipped out or they don't tell me something is out of stock right away, so I end up with an angry customer that I have to placate and refund

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
