I have been researching the procedure because all my life I have been at least 40 pounds overweight. As an adult, that 40 pounds morph into 60+'pounds. I've done everything. I'm a lifetime member of weight watchers. I'm a pretty strict vegetarian. But I just can't pull it together. My exercise level is not exactly what it should be, but I do move quite a bit. I try to be conscientious about getting at least 10000 steps in a day even if im not consciously exercising. I'm tired of struggling to lose the same 50 pounds. Last year I was on the Sadkhin Complex. That was a disaster. I've gained everything that I lost plus an extra 2 pounds.

I feel funny coming here. I never thought that I would be considering this, but I'm to the point where I'm exhausted from the yo-yoing. Thanks for bearing with this post. :)

Have you got your thyroid checked?

No, I never did. When I talked to my doctor about it, she tried diet drugs. When that did nothing, we tried the B12 shot.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
