Anyone get their band at True Results in Dallas, TX? Surgery Center of Richardson

Recommended Posts

What is the post-op diet??? I am most worried about learning to slow down when I eat. I do childcare out of my home and I am soooo used to shoving food down as fast as I can so I can actually eat it at the temp its supposed to be wether hot or cold. LOL ... but I'm so excited about having this tool to help me get back the spunky me that is burried under all this extra weight! I will do whatever I've got to do. When you say you aren't in the green zone, does that mean you are hungry all the time?

Sorry, been out of town for work. The post op diet wasn't bad. I think that it was a week of liquids, a week of mushies and then a week of regular food, then 1st fill. The liquids phase was easier than most doctors bc you could have smoothies and some Soups. To be honest, you will be so sore that first week that you will not want to eat. After about a week you start to feel like a person again. The green zone means being able to eat about a cup of food and have it satisfy you for up to 5 hours. I'm eating more than that now and get hungry about every 3 hours. I can tell them I'm getting closer to the green zone with each fill. Dr. Marsden is a bit more aggressive than other docs bc he wants to set you up for success as soon as possible.

Txmama' date=' I just scheduled my surgery with Dr Marsden for April 5th! So happy to find someone who is a recent patient of his!! Congrats on your success!! Is that 30 pounds since surgery or since the start of the preop diet?[/quote']

Dr. Marsdenwww is also my surgeon. I love him. He put 4 cc in my band during surgery and I got to the green zone on my first fill!!! AMAZING!!!! The aftercare is great. My two besties had him also last week. He did a great job with all of us. Good luck.

Thanks for the info! I am nervous because I am having surgery on a Friday morning and I fly home on Monday at 10am. I hope that's enough time to handle the flight. The flight is only 1 hour and 10 minutes. My patient advocate said I should be fine by Monday....any thoughts?

I got my band at True Results in Fort Worth. I know two other people that got their bands there as well. I highly recommend them. Dr. Adam Smith did my surgery and he is an amazing man. He is very skilled and a very down to earth person, and he also has the lap band. The staff at his office in Fort Worth and at Baylor Trophy Club are also amazing. I tell anyone who will listen how wonderful they are.

With that short of a flight you will be fine. Fri and Sat were by far the toughest days. I was able to return to work on Tuesday and host a luncheon for 45 people. Are you flying out of Love Field bc that is a much smaller airport and has far less walking required than DFW.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
