Weight loss question :)

Recommended Posts

I have lost 30 lbs in 5 weeks with very little exercise. Is this going to slow down a bit? I am just trying not to have too much saggy skin.

Yes, yes, yes....it will slow down.

I lost 60lbs in about 6 months with very little effort - now I have to work for it - which is fine. Just enjoy it while it lasts, LOL.

Yes, it should eventually slow down to 2-8 lbs a month. I would imagine that 5 lbs is the avg.

Yes, it will slow down.

However as far as the sagging skin, that will depend on your age, how long you've been overweight, skin elasticity, and genetics. Some people are super lucky and can lose over 100 pounds with very little excess skin. Others lose the same amount and have a lot of excess skin. Unfortunately, losing weight slower doesn't mean you won't have sagging skin.

Best wishes.

It will slow down, but consider adding exercise if possible. It helps!

i think alot is based on age, weight, heritage etc....i think as you lose and exercise, you can/will tone but there is always that chance of saggy..you can later have surgery if you want...just keep doing what you are doing as you are doing great in my book.

ps, let me add, i'll take saggy over seeing the scale over 300+ again

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
