Lap band fills after wight loss

Recommended Posts

I've lost 80 pounds and I'm past the 3 month mark, my dr is starting to charge me for my fills, I have about 80 more pounds to go, My fills are kinda expensive after I've found that "green zone" generally how many times do u have to go to the dr for fillups? And on a side note how long can u keep the band in befor u have to get it removed

Why would you get the band removed?

I'm going into my 7th year. For me the band is for life. I need the band for Portion Control.< /p>

I had 4 fills in total. I have 7.5 cc in a 10 cc band.

If I did have band removed it would be just a matter of time before the weight came back on and much more.

I stared with a 54" waist... now 32" waist. I had an extended Tummy Tuck and had 16 lbs of skin removed from my tummy and 6 lbs removed from my chest. If I did have my band removed I'm sure I would be MUCH larger.

For me the band is a "tool" for life.

If you do have to pay for your fills consider it an investment in your health... well worth it in the years to come. You may only need 1 more fill... you never know.

Please keep us posted.

Good luck.

Tom, Toronto

Banded July 6 06

Wt. Loss: 156 lbs

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
