Heading for first fill

Recommended Posts

I'm headed to my 6 wk post op appt & will get my first fill:) Thank goodness because I am sooo hungry all the time & can eat more than I could just 2 wks ago. I have been careful of what I have eaten & began exercising so the weight is dropping, just SUPER SLOW!

Well from your photo you already look awesome! How did u find post op recovery? Xx

Thanks!!! I'm losing pounds really slow but I'm losing inches fast. I started back to the gym on my one month band anniversary so I feel like that explains the inches. I still struggle with letting go of bread but it is getting easier. I'm hoping things will speed up after this fill. Everything with recovery was really easy for me. I had very little pain.

What do you consider slow?

I was told by my surgeons nurse at my 2 wk post op visit that most ppl lose 10 lbs at that visit & I was only down 1 lb. I guess this has given me the idea that I am obviously behind their other patients:/ Maybe I have just let that comment bother me too much. I know I would have loved to have waken up from surgery skinny. Lol! But I didn't become overweight over one week so I'm not going to lose it in a week.

Do you not have your own scale? It's been a month since you last weighed?

Some here will say that's OK but I believe in tracking my weight every day. That way I know what foods and exercises effect my progress. Some find any setbacks a grave disappointment but I understand that the scale will go up and down and as long as it's down at the end of a month, I'm OK with that.

Hope your first fill is the magic one. If not, keep eating right and buy a scale imo.

I also weigh daily...even though my surgeon stated that I should not weigh more than once a month. I also track my food & exercise faithfully. I haven't gained but would love to hit the -2 lb per week loss. I'm hoping with the exercise being incorporated & the fill then maybe I can get there. I do 1 hour of Zumba 3 days per week & just added Jillian Michael's 30 day shred this week.

I did get my first fill today:) The doctor is checking my thyroid levels again due to my levels being low in Dec. We are hoping the med adjustment in Dec. did the trick. The dr & nurse made me feel much better today. I had lost 5 lbs in 4 wks which puts me in the normal range. I'm going to keep tracking my food & exercising. Excited to see what tomorrow holds. Hoping for some much needed restriction:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
