Push your doctor for another fill or change doctors if you must. The fills is how the band works without the proper level you aren't getting the benefits of the band.

I would push ur doctor too. 3 out of 10? That's not right. If your stuck tell him to give u at least 2 more. Good luck & congrats on your success so far!

Keep mind that how much is in your band is irrelevant. There are people who have no Fluid in their bands and still have great appetite control. Likewise, there's people with their bands nearly maxed out and they're still hungry all the time. So, don't worry about how much is in your band, concentrate on how you feel.

You said you've been banded for 3 years. How often during that time did you see your doctor? When is the last time you saw him?

Just to be devil's advocate here.... While the amount of fill is not going to be the same for any two people, some doctors are really conservative with the fills. I got a little "aggressive" (insistant might be a better word choice) and have been slowing moving forward. My doctor is still super conservative with the volume (increments of abou .2cc), but I am moving forward. I just have to be firm about why I think I need a fill. I just tell them the truth about what is going on.... I can't go three hours between meals without hunger/stomach growling. Don't be afraid to hold your ground if they say "no". Just remember to be polite anout it!! Chuckle..... :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
