Boca Burgers

Love Them!!

You must try the Black Bean Flavor Burger. My man and I put them in a pan, grill them and then add a couple of eggs, scramble it all up and put it on a tortilla. Yummy....

I buy my Boca's at costco, but the Super Wallyworld has them.

Now, I did try the Boca morning sausage this morning and couldn't quite develop a taste for it.

Ok- Fiance is a vegetarian so I've been privy to almost all of the varieties on the market.

-Gardenburger makes a mushroom burger that is AWESOME

-Morningstar Farms "bacon" is really good, especially with a little sugar free honey

-Fiance lives on Morningstar Farms Spicy Chik patties

-Also prefer the Morningstar Farms "burgers" to the Boca brand

does boca use mushrooms to help with the consistency and flavor? cause if so, i can't eat them. I am allergic to mushrooms. plus i thought mushrooms were bad with the band. don't they swell and cause pb's?

I don't think that they all use mushrooms, there are certain ones that are specifically for mushroom lovers. And no, I don't think mushrooms are off limits, I eat grilled mushrooms at least 2x a week and never have any problems. I also add them to my meatloafs!

Here's the ingredients for Boca Burgers:

Water, ORGANIC TEXTURED SOY FLOUR, ORGANIC MILD CHEDDAR cheese (CULTURED PASTEURIZED ORGANIC MILK, SALT, ENZYMES), ORGANIC TEXTURED WHEAT GLUTEN, WHEAT GLUTEN, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF ORGANIC SOY Protein CONCENTRATE, YEAST EXTRACT, KONJAC GUM, ORGANIC SOY Fiber, MALT EXTRACT, SEA SALT, EGG WHITES, NATURAL FLAVOR (NON-MEAT), DRIED GARLIC, DRIED ONIONS, SESAME OIL, SALT, ORGANIC WHEAT FLOUR. CERTIFIED ORGANIC BY QUALITY CERTIFICATION SERVICES (QCS).

I just found something new that I really like. It is Atkins Advantage Caramel, chocolate Peanut Nugat bar. It is like a real treat, like a candy bar. It has 150 cal, 3 net carbs, and no sugar alcohols. This is a new product from Atkins. The best part is no sugar alcohols.

Also found something else that I like, Philadelphia Cream cheese "Garden Vegetable". I spread some on a low carb wrap add some spinish leaves or lettuce with turkey, ham, etc.

gotta be careful with the Atkins bars though. many nutritionists are finding that eating those preprepared bars and stuff are actually still spiking people's blood surgar and making them more hungry. if you go to the atkins support group site, that is on atkins.com, you will see many of them preaching to stay as far away from atkins products as possible because it causes weight loss stalls.

i think they taste great!! so it is hard to stay away. i think moderation is the key with these bars.

I miss tiger bars. I have no idea if they still make them, and i know a lot of people didn't like the taste of them, but i loved their Peanut Butter and chocolate ones. great for right before a major workout! but then again that was before i was fat, and i never looked at the cals. they are prolly like 1000 cals and 1000 carbs LOL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
