Yep I left the hospital at around 3. (I got there at 6:30 this morning)

Ok the honest truth is I feel pretty good. - Of course the incision points are sore and especially where the port is. I had HORRIBLE nausea when I woke up, I was terrified I was going to throw up. My pain was about a 3-4. but I could hear the guy next to me in recovery who had also had a band put in said his pain was a 10... so the pain no doubt varies dramatically.

the doctor gave me script for some liquid pain killer but it makes me so sick to my stomach I think I'm going to tough it out.. I'd rather feel uncomfortable than throw up and rip my stitches.

One odd thing, I keep getting the hiccups. I've read on here that is a sign that you are "full" but I haven't eaten anything so, it is probably my body just trying to adjust.

All in all, I really can't complain!

BTW... I heard another woman saying she had a hernia repaired at the same time... she was staying over night as well.

Home! Feeling pretty good especially with the codeine... I has hiatal hernia repair too but still discharged. Enjoy the night in the hospital, sometimes nice to be waited on, even like this.

Did any of you today get "filled"? My band is empty; wondering if that's just how my Dr does it?

I cam home "empty" too. I see my surgeon in two weeks. - he said just focus on healing right now... clear liquids... I think it is going to be REALLY hard to get anywhere near 800 calories.

Hi everyone! I went home yesterday after surgery around 3:00. I had a very hard time with coming off the anesthesia. I also had a hard time going to the bathroom but it all worked out. Yesterday was horrible. I couldn't eat and just drank Water. I was so sick to my stomach and I was freezing all evening. My face was pale. I also didn't realize I would have to pee every 45 minutes. Today is so much better! I drank some milk, took liquid Motrin and have been doing laps around the house.

So glad everyone seems to be doing well so far! I needed pain meds about 6am but was afraid to take them on an empty stomach so I ate 1/2 of a SF Jello. Seemed fine. This morning I mixed a scoop of unflavored Protein Powder with light apple juice. Strange consistency, but got about 10 oz down.

Anyone else "eating" anything?

Hi everyone! Thank so much for your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes! I got home yesterday around 1pm. Went into surgery at 9:10...all went well! I'm feeling fairly well, mostly just sore around where the port is. I'm also having some of the gas pains in my shoulder. I have been sipping on liquids a lot, but haven't eaten anything yet...not hungry. I need to try to get some Protein in me though. My band is empty, no fills until I'm 6 weeks out. So glad you other ladies seem to be doing well too!

I still can't believe I finally have my band!! YAY!

I just realized that All of us that were banded on the same day have between 75 and 100 pounds to loose. We can literally do this together...

Smell of Super Bowl food not tempting at all. Got 8oz of Muscle Milk Lite down between best and lunch. Feel like I could be done for the day.

How is everyone's pain levels? My gas pain is sharp, on my left shoulder but decreasing in area. Hope it's gone tomorrow. Took a shower today. The bruising around the incisions is pretty hideous looking. Not going back to work for a few days. I scheduled the time off in case, and even though I feel better I want to go slow and adjust mentally too.

Hope you are all having good days!

Hi 50, today I'm feeling pretty good. Felt drained this morning but am doing better now. I was so lucky not to get the gas pains. My stomach was so puffy from the gas and my back hurt (I've been sleeping with a hot Water bottle because I can't find the heating bad.) but I didn't have any shoulder aches.

I have to admit, today i'm able to drink without any restriction at all. I can't feel anything when the liquid goes down. This week I'm on clear liquids, next week it is "filled" liquids and the following is "mushies".

so far I haven't felt hungry at all, so that makes me happy.

I'm still feeling sore today, especially around my largest incision. I haven't needed any pain meds at all today, so that's good. I'm also still feeling bloated. I'm assuming the bloating is from the gas. My stomach is rumbling non stop, but I don't feel hungry at all. I took a shower, and took my bandaids off, and got light headed (from taking off the bandaids and not knowing what I would see! ...I'm such a baby! haha). Hoping everyday just keeps getting better and better.

I'm on full liquids until the 19th...so I can have greek yogurt, sugar free pudding, sf popsicles, broth, unsweetened applesauce, Protein Drinks. So far everything's going down ok, but I do get uncomfortable if I eat too fast.

Hi ladies. I am feeling a lot better today. The difference from Friday is amazing. I am not going back to work yet since I still need a couple days. I lay on the couch and then get up and do laps around the house. Most of my gas is right in my chest. Have you guys been able to eat? I only had Water on Fri, water and maybe 8oz of skim milk yesterday and today I had some water, green tea, and 2 oz of Soup. Even though my stomach is growling, I feel so bloated that I don't feel like eating. I am forcing myself to have more soup later. Are you guys getting your 64oz of water in? I can't get anywhere near that right now. By the way, I've never been so happy to need to pass gas! Ok here comes the major tmi, have you ladies had a BM? I haven't and starting to wonder if I should start taking something like MOM - I just don't want worse gas cramps. Let me know and good luck to the ladies going tomorrow!!!! WE CAN DO THIS!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
