Insurance paying for tummy tuck?

Recommended Posts

I have an issue with my tummy and I wonder if the insurance would cover it. I have a lot of skin and it causes skin issues, I am not sure if anybody else my go through this, but since it is an issue, I was wondering if anyone got their insurance to help pay for a Tummy Tuck? I mean they should because it is a medical condition rihgt? If someone has been sucessful in this please let me know what you did to get it done?

I doubt it.. unless your surgeon can prove it's causing a chronic rash or some other health

problem. it's considered cosmetic surgery so they won't pay... some say you can't even consider that until you are at least a year or two after lap band. I saw a post some time ago about using Spanx to help with the tummy skin...good luck

I have Aetna and they do cover it after a minimum of 1 year of surgery.

What reasoning did they give? I have Aetna and if needed would like data as a leg to stand on....let me know"

I have a friend who had a Tummy Tuck and insurance paid all but $200. It was medically necessary because she was getting sores in the folds of her skin.

Complain to your doctor enough that you have a foul smelling odor and it affects the way you walk and excersize and I promise you insurance will

Cover ... It's a health hazard not too. You just hve to have enough and proper

Documentation from your doctor.

My insurance will pay of its been over a year since weight loss surgery and a 100 pound loss or more is documented.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
