I am slightly nervous about "gas pain" too but I am not obsessing about it. Reports from those who have already been recently banded will help ease my mind. Even if it's bad...knowledge is power.

All this talk about gas and I want to know what kind of mileage we'll? Ha ha, but think about it. This is the most expensive gas we'll ever buy. If it gives good results, won't it be worth all those gas pains?

Well ladies, I officially got the call. My surgery starts at 7:30am and I need to be at the hospital between 5:30 and 6. Is this really happening? Looks like I will be able to check in with you guys by early afternoon.

Regarding gas pains...if memory serves, yes it was a B**** of a pain but it ached more than burned, if that makes sense. Felt like I pulled my shoulder. I found it more annoying than agonizing...and I didn't take pain meds the first day after surgery. I also, back then, didn't know about the Gas X. They recommended it but I wasn't told to specifically take the Gas X for shoulder pain. I probably toughed it out more than I needed to. Everyone's experience is different, and I'm really hoping all of us have tolerable discomfort that leaves quickly!

Hi my name is Quinn

Banded Feb 5, 2013. Been heavy since 1998, Jr year in high school. I dont know what happen, I didnt realize the MAJOR weight gain til friends started to make jokes.

My highest weight was 283 and I wasnt even that heavy 4 years ago while pregnant I was 250. Major health problems starting with PCOS leading to taking metformin and high blood pressure medicine and then using the CPAP Machine. I didnt feel like I could date because one day I would have to fall asleep around that person. So embarassing.

My current weight is now 255. I work out 2 days with my trainer, 3 total days now at a boot camp class. I am seeing some results but got discourage once I GOT hungry. So after my second fill of 7.2 cc. I am not pretty restricted.

You guys are now my lapband family so I FEEL ok with telling you all this stuff. This is a judgment free zone. THANK YOU!!!!

I completely understand about not feeling restriction. I just posted a question regarding this, hoping to get some help from the veterans. I was banded the day before you and have had one fill so far, with so restriction. Kudos to you for working out with a trainer. I think we need to be patient and work on getting to the green zone with our bands. Glad to have you in the group.

Hi, I'm late joining this group. Surgery on 2/18/13, as of today 6/10/13 I'm down 20 lbs. Feeling discouraged and frustrated. And advice. My goal is to get anywhere between 130-150. Is it supposed to go this slow or am I just really messing this whole thing up? Eat oatmeal for Breakfast, lite lunch, and usually fish/chicken for dinner. No Snacks, soda's, milkshakes. Also, any advice on scars? My surgeon said to use Vitamin E oil....not working at all. Please share. :)

Hi Elwood, i count calories. I usually get between 800 and 900 a day. I notice when I dont eat all the Protein I'm supposed to have i do not lose as much or sometimes any weight at all. I also track every day. For the past 3 weeks i have not kept track of what I have been eating and have not lost an ounce! I think because my daily calorie intake is so low it is so easy to eat too much, especially if you pick here and there. I think you should not be eating oatmeal for breakfast. You should have protein at every meal. I use egg beaters and they are not bad at all. Make an omelet with mushrooms or whatever you like. Try tracking if you are not now. I use the app " lose it". It's very easy to use. I am also not happy with how my scars look. I tried Maderma and Vitamin E but they are still red and seem to be getting darker instead of fading. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
