Does anyone know what the calorie range is supposed to be for a female? If this helps, IM 5'5 weight 240, and IM 39. I've been banded since Sept 2010 but have been committed only since recently

Thanks

Mary

You might find it helpful to join myfitnesspal.com. If you log in you can put in your height, weight, age, how much and how fast you want to lose weight and it will give you a daily calorie count. Then you can track your food and exercise.

Do you have a nutritionist that can help you map out a food plan?

That would be my suggestion because you are going to get all different answers here.

Good luck.

Per my doctor I don't count calories but I measure everything. You might want to get the guidelines from your dr. I have been banded about 4 years and like you recently recommitted . I went back to doctor to have my band checked, they gave me a book with guidelines and I saw one of their nutritionist. I have lost 32.2 since he end of October. They also started me back with a small fill.

Mileage may vary, is the unfortunate answer. I like some others here think you should consult a nutritionist, preferable one that is familiar with lap band surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
